Took out this old Bosch electric chain saw from the shed. It had been bought used from eBay for cheap. It was put away in the shed for years and forgotten. Today when looked into it, it looks like it had been used with cooking oil for the lube by the original owner, as the oil compartment is hardened with what looks like cooking oil gone solidified with the age.

What lube is best for this chain saw. I think it needs to be cleaned with some sort of alcohol or nail varnish before filled with new lube prior to powering on.

Found a bottle of chainsaw oil in the shed. It is maybe from about 5 years ago, when I was playing around with the vintage petrol chainsaws. Still half oil left inside the bottle. Hopefully it is still OK to use with the Bosch electric chainsaw.
