Is it just me or is everybody paying nearly double for certain things? Particulary cable.

Looked at a few invoices and couldn't believe how much things have gone up. :O

It is the Chinise or is it oil causing the problem?

At this rate it will be cheaper buying off screwfix!!!

Give us a list of what you're paying for what, and I'll give you what I'm paying.
They do try it on though, the ********!

    ALright msk

    100m 2.5 6242y £26.27+vat 6 months ago £15.00

    100m 1mm 6242y £15.36+vat 6 months ago £11.00

Metal flush boxes have also sky rocketed. But I can't be bothered to look it up.

Prices may vary across the country and leasing costs are differant for wholesalers etc.

I live in the North East so I'm at the cheaper end of the scale.

Hahaha I shouldn't laugh but you're being robbed.

    Lincoln:
    2.5 £19.70
    1.0 £11.90

They did send me a bill of 24plus vat on 2.5 and I rang up and called them ***** (literally), and got it sorted out.

£47 in total for 100m of 25mm red meter tails and 100 of black.
    £47 ain't not bad for 200m 25mm! Wholesaler's chucking it out at 0.99/metre +VAT!

£33.78 in total for 400 metres 1.00mm T&E & 200 metres 2.5 T&E. Not sure of wholesaler prices for these.

All old colours and all off ebay.

    Bargain!

Oh yes I've heard off this cheap import cable.

Apparently it's current carrying capacity is no where near as good as genuine 'BS whatever' stuff. It'll test out OK usually but will need derating massively otherwise it will overheat under higher loadings! :O

Is this cable tested under the BASEC testing regulations?

Dunno about imported cable, but the stuff I bought off ebay is BASEC kite marked and is dated 1991!
The ebay seller was actually a well-known name but was selling on ebay as well as the 'front door' so to speak.

    Old stock I suppose.

The best thing you can do is just cut to the chase and tell them you are paying 'X' or going elsewhere. They will listen.

Never deal with MK, but I doubt it. Not unless you were buying over 50.

    Keep them keen.

I reguarly deal with at least 4 local wholesalers (basically everyone in the area except CEF - different story)

They all know I shop around and keep their prices keen, or I change shopping patterns

looking at prices mentioned i seem to be getting a good deal.
