    Hey all.

I’m currently in the process of building a summerhouse in my garden. Built with the a C16 4x2 timber frame, etc.

I’m now ready to install the uPVC windows and was wondering about the waterproofing side of it.

I’ve seen installation instructions where flashing tape has not been used, and others that have. I’ve seen the use of Tyvek Flexwrap tape that cost an arm and a leg and others use a lower end black waterproofing tape.

My question is, is this required or recommended? If so, can someone recommend an affordable tape that does what’s required.

    Thanks in advance.

I think we’re misunderstanding each other buddy.

I’m meaning do I need to waterproof the wood frame prior to installing the windows?
