Supposed to be good but not worth changing your system for, stick with XP untill you need a new 1

Don't think ill get it yet, bound to be problems for a while, puter plenty powerful enough for it though, had it made up to what I wanted. Top end asus motherboard with 939 socket, thought it would be futureproof for updates for a while, had it 1 year. Enquired about updating the Athlon dual core 3800 the 4800 but guess what. They have now gone over to the 940 socket, 2 shops looking for it but dont hold out much hope.

    Vista is fab visually....

However, and be warned, some peripheral stuff might not work without updated vista drivers, such as printers, scanners, other software, etc, plus the manufacturer of these items might not create drivers that are compliant with Vista.

If this is the case it might be prudent to create a seperate partition on your hard drive so you can keep your current operating system on one, then install Vista on the newly created partition.

So unless you intend to format your drive, you might need this http://www.symantec.com/homehomeoffice/products/overview.jsp?pcid=sp&pvid=pm80

Looks as if your windows partition has been hacked by Vista!!!
You need the voice activated version (which of course is ideal for those of you who wish to delete folders/files by voice command - even if it's not your pc)

Funny one today actually - (I work in IT at the moment) - customer ordered a custom build computer from us,
The OS is Windows XP Pro (didn't want Vista as it was so new) - but wanted Office 2007 Professional....

No problem - technician built the pc, installed XP Pro SP2 and all updates, installs Office 2007 Pro (retail box edition) - all installs nicely thankyou Mr Gates......

Until Office goes to check "Latest updates for MS Office" .....

Tecky connects to the internet, .... Windows then goes ...
"Microsoft does not support this version of Office"

    :):):) hahahaha

Well on the basis that MS seem to have nicked yet more features of OSX and put them into Vista, and they are still miles behind OSX why not simply dump useless MS so-called operating systems and get a decent and reliable PC - run OSX.
