Wiring 13A socket on lighting circuit

Yea I often use the plug above the kitchen cupboards to plug in my welder.

Only a welder ? pfft,
I have finally realised that @Wellwisher is toying with us all.

A fan heater on top of a wall cupboard in a kitchen, pointing down. That's funny!

Well to be fair, wall mount bar heaters used to popular in bathrooms years ago , my parents had one, was my introduction to eletrickery, wet towel, live heater, Bzzzz, fastest way to get a perm hair style, BUT It wasn't on a 6A lighting circuit and it was not on top of a cupboard plugged in to a socket labelled 'lighting only' Plus we have zones these days.

If someone has a fan heater on top of a wall cupboard to keep the spiders nice and cozy then fine, we have to accept some people do silly things.

I have led strips with transformer plugs which I need to connect to the lighting circuit so the light switch can control them. Is it ok if I add a 13A sockets above each cabinet to plug transformer plugs into?
Assuming you are still around, cutting through three pages of trash, your original idea of the socket on top of the cupboards seems like the best solution.

I personally can’t see anyone climbing up onto the cupboards to make a cup of tea! :D

What about thirsty spiders wearing big boots ? given the amount of silly replies these type of threads contain I am surprised spiders with big boots don't get a mention.

Wrong. It is bad practice and the worst solution. The correct power supplies into a JB is the best solution.

Just wait for the post asking 'Someone may plug a clothes iron into a pendant fitting like my nan used to do'

Would make a change from those who MAY plug kettles, toasters and fan heaters into a lighting circuit, you know, those few who aint like the rest of us.
