New to this forum but would like advice or opinions.

An honest opinion required of the srewfix G clamps. I don't really want to go to the expense of record at £20-00 plus per clamp as they would be for occasional use only.

Are these clamps worth the money?

    Thanks

Yeah there the ones. I have been advised against cheap ones. But going to make a new work bench and wat to join a number of lenghts of 4 by 2 I have for the legs rather than buy new stock

    Thanks

    heeelllooo chippa and welcome:;)

you need to protect the work from the jaws
the size may or may not include the thread and cap
also if the woods slightly bowed and you put it back to back to even out the bow you wont get the clamp on

best go for 6" clamps and full length 2by1" instead of clamping blocks

    Thanks All

It would be the 6" I'd go for. Just wondered about the quality didn't want to waste the cash. I know it's not much but it's the principle. I also see Toolstation are doing them on offer at the moment.

yep 10% or was it 20%;)

car boot sales ideal place for g clamps

another point have you got a workmate!! it should be strong enough for this purpose and you would only need perhaps an additional one or two clamp
