ive got tiny 0.5l zilmet inox pro tank on my instant hot water tank. It has started leaking from the middle, probably where the unit joins together. Is there anything I can do or is this for the bin. It is only a year old. Are they any good these units or is there a better brand out there to replace it with?
Hi Dave, Zilmet are a well known brand and very commonly used on unvented units etc. The vessel is for scrap metal if it is leaking. You could contact the maker of the instant hot water unit and ask them why it might have failed
If the vessel is mild steel, it will not have water in direct contact with the metal and will have a balloon membrane inside to hold the water. The air charge will surround the balloon. If metal is corroded then means the balloon membrane has ruptured.
i dont know if this is linked by the Hyco hot water tank for the instant tap was leaking about a month ago - and was replaced on warranty. Im wondering the fact this vessel is now leaking are the 2 linked?
