    hi gents

when testing a Zs reading today i got a >2000 ohm reading

I was using the fluke 3 wire tester

I put the neutral lead to earth and got a 0.2 reading indicating a neutral fault ??? yes ???

I then got a 250V reading between phase and neutral indicating the neutral is ok ??? yes ???

    any views...

    All Mohm was >500 ohms

    R1 + R2 readings ok

Sounds like you not the tester

    Check the battery

Check the leads on correct wholes and Fuses intact

Check it is set to L-PE not L-N on loop test mode

Join all leads together and zero (Fluke can zero lead on loop mode, unlike the megger)

Try a Ze to confirm that the tester now works

Re-test 'faulty' circuit if still FKD then fault find as usual.

  5. sparky Si-Fi

    sparky Si-Fi Screwfix Select

    Just a little info.

The meter only uses the neutral to light the display

You can test Zs at a switch drop BTW by joining neutral and cpc together and hit TEST

Might not be relevent to your inquiry OP but might be good for future ref.

If you know the answers, why post this in the first place.

On this forum if you post a stupid question and make yourself look stupid, then expect a stupid answer.
