Hi. 1st post so be gentle on a noob I am wanting to run 28mm Qual Pex polybutylene piping to the UFH manifolds and hot water circuits of my self build barn conversion. For various reasons I won't bore you with I have been advised to use 28mm. As some of the pipes will end up underneath the liquid screed (that will eventually encapsulate the UFH) I have decided to use plastic. I figure that if there are no joints to fail, then they can't fail, if you see what I mean. My question is this: Do JG/Osma/Hep2o fittings work with each others PEX pipe or do I need to buy the Yorkshire IMI tectite fittings that Yorkshire IMI recommend for use with the pipe. If the answer is that I can use the other manufacturers fittings, do I use the T66 insert for the Qual-Pex pipe or the inserts that go with the other manufacturers fittings? Thanks PS here is our self-build diary if anyone is interested. Bit out of date at the moment but anyway http://barnfree.moonfruit.com

Bit out of date at the moment but anyway http://barnfree.moonfruit.com Use the pipe inserts of the pipe makers and use normal good quality brass compression joints that are normally used on copper pipes - they can be used on plastic by wrapping the olive with PTFE. Don't bother with the plastic push-fit fittings. They are generally more expensive anyway. Nice barn
