Finally been getting to the making good stage of this renovation... Skimmed a couple of walls, lovely... Just polishing off and area and disaster. Previous bloody skim has come away from the wall There was no sign of it being loose before I started, can only assume it's taken on moisture from my skim. Wondering if I should have used the Blue Grit instead of cheapo PVA. What do people think?
Well thanks for that, but I don't see what a plasterer will do which is any different to what I will do (with a little advice from people on here!)
I asked a question about a new situation. I've finished off backing plaster lots of times, that time I had a different situation. Why are you bringing it up? It's not relevant.
Yeah tis good Used some recently before overskimming a bathroom ceiling as the paint looked a tad shiny for my liking. There is a similar product that is green which is better as its not so gritty!
Thing is, it feels rock solid and doesn't sound hollow at all... It seems like it's held tight until the moisture reactivates the old PVA.
With regards the Blue Grit, I wasn't that impressed... I had to recoat the roller constantly or the grit just built up in one place
