Are there any warm light led really?

Tried a few different Warm White GU10 led bulbs and they are nowhere near as nice a light as the halogen. The halogen give off a friendly (but juicy) yellowish light whereas even the warm white led I've tried are very stark.

    Whats your experience?

    What room these for.

    Try: https://www.ledhut.co.uk/

Very pleased with their lamps, using cool white in kitchen, warm white in dinning room.

The cool white give a nice clean white light,& no blue tinge, using the 6.5w (70w) in kitchen, & 6w (60w) in dinning, both lamps are dimmable.

You can really tell the difference if you accidentally mix up a warm white amongs't a batch of cool white LEDs!!!! Many a time fallen for that.

They are for a basement room, was hoping for something akin to that warm yellowish light you get from incandescent or halogen

A basement room can be used for many things.

Good thing with LED Hut they offer a 30 day money back guarantee

Perhaps use warm white dimmable LEDs with a dimmer switch then...
IMO the warm white LEDs have a pretty good colour rendering w.r.t. GU10 lamps. Myabe the GU10s you have replaced were dimmer 35W ones, as opposed to 50W ones?

And I find that warm white seems to vary among brands.

It does. You need to go by the K color.

And that is the problem Lec, there is a lot of variation in that definition of a warm white lamp (2700k -3200k),it's the same with cool white & others, also the led quailty can vary between brands & affect affect the K colour.

Brilliant, great info thanks KIAB and all.

Whats the story re intumescant hats. Years ago the sparky fitted them as there is a flat above. In my basement conversion I guess they are not needed as lower level in the same flat. (And low heat from LED's ?)

Also the Varilight dimmers carry a ten year gaurentee - pretty good eh !

Have brought a few of these for home, available with a good selection of faceplates or you can just buy the dimmer module if you want to keep your original faceplates

Done this myself as have a couple of nice Victorian (style) chrome faceplates so just swapped out the modules

Soft start as well which apparently helps with the life of the led lamps

All in all, a good recommendation :)
