Hello Our combi boiler stopped working on Friday. It may have been because of rain coming in through the flue. It had a new fan fitted 2 years ago. When turning on from scratch, the pump turns on but there is no attempt to ignite nor does the fan run. This happens regardless of whether I have the central heating calling for the heat or if it is the hot water calling for it. We'll need to have a new boiler fitted in a different position in the next few months but we need to get this one working first to tide us over (the new combi boiler will be a rear flue one as opposed to the current top flue one which is not working so it wouldn't work to get the new one early). Does any one have any thoughts on what the problem might be and how much it might cost to fix please? We need it sorted today, Monday or Tuesday ideally. Thanks
There are two fuses on the circuit board that might have blown. Manual here.http://www.freeboilermanuals.com/ariston/ http://www.freeboilermanuals.com/assets/pdf/ariston/MICRO GENUS 23MFFI GCNo.47-116-14.pdf
Thanks very much for your input. I have had a look and using an electrical screwdriver I can see that the left hand fuse has power to both ends of it and the right hand fuse has no power to either end. Any other thoughts!? It's getting chilly here....
Well, your going to have to get some boiler engineer out to sort it,might be something simple or maybe a more serious fault. As to cost, how long is a piece of string, might be better to bring forward your new boiler installation.
