There is some would behind our towel rail. This is obviously where the towels have been damp. What is the best paint or treatment for this before we paint the bathroom again.

    'Would' behind towel rail?

Assuming you mean Damp, then allow to dry before painting. Damp patches should never be painted as this will only lock the moisture in with nowhere to go.

Sorry supertosh but I reckon the OP is talking about "mould". (Would)

If this is the case ? ...... Then wash the affected area down with a bleach solution. This should remove the mould and kill any remaining spores. Rinse the wall with clean water, allow to dry then paint

But of course I may be wrong :(

    White vinegar then you say......

Is that actually "better" than bleach or more personal preference ? Just wondered really supertosh :)

Vinegar is non-toxic and doesn't give off fumes. Bleach cannot completely kill mould growing in porous materials because the chlorine in bleach cannot penetrate porous surfaces such as wood - bleach is only effective if the mould is growing on non-porous surfaces. Hope this helps. :)
