Hi, a friend of mine has asked if it is possible for me to fit them a toilet in a downstairs room, it has a clay vertical waste which has been cemented over near enough level with the floor, would I be able to smash the cement out and just put a mcapline adaptor in or should there be a collar? Thanks

Unknown until you try and see if the cement infill comes out easy without damaging the clay pipe, then yes you could fit a Mcalpine.

    Like this I assume.

Does it matter if the clay looks as if it has been smashed level with the floor? If not all that would be required then is to remove the cement and use the adaptor?

As long as the pipe that still remains isn't damaged, ie: cracked, then it's only the look of it you have to live with.
