Hi I need to change a few ceiling roses to junction boxes which I can access from the attic.
Some of the roses have 5 or 6 cables connected them-is it ok to fit 5 or 6 cables into a 4 entry 20A junction box?
    Thanks

it is if the terminals are large enough for the conductors and the cable sheaths aren't chafed.

Maybe better to use a nice adaptable box and some wago terminals though.

Thanks-I will be able to fit cables in the terminals but will have to knock out a couple of entry points on the round type junction box to accomodate 2 cables-wasnt sure as on the back of the junction box it says 4x1.5mm cables max?

For multi-cable JBs use an adaptable box like a Wiska Box, or a single /double pattrass with a blanking plate. With Wagos or a choc-block strip.

Much more space, much easier. Much less sweat. When you lose a screw from the round JBs in a blanket of loft insulation....
