    Hi There
I'm insulating a timber building with 100 mm kingspan.
I intend to counter batten over the insulation and then cladd with timber .
I'm wondering what fixings are needed to fix the battens through the insulation and osb to the studs.
I need a fixing around 175 mm but in order to avoid sagging of the cladding do I need a structural screw for the battens or will an ordinary screw be OK?
    Many thanks
    Andy

  2. I can't see why orn'ary screws won't be ok.

Kingspan-type insulation is fairly rigid so shouldn't crush when the battens are screwed down on it. I guess if you have any concerns, chust use a larger batten - perhaps 3x2 CLS laid flat? What size batten were you thinking of using?
