I am doing a rewire using the notify LBA route hopefully with a view to joining niceic. The problem is the consumer unit height. It is more practical to fit it at approx 2 metres. Would this be ok as I keep reading between 1350 and 1450 mm. Also the customer does not want her sockets at the new regulation heights. Does she have a choice in this matter

The guidance given in Approved document M for socket & consumer unit height, applies to all new dwellings, it doesn't applie to rewires.

Agree. Rewires have some flexibility in accessory heights.

A rewire may use original outlet heights/locations.

New Build must use the the new heights etc

A Rewire may also use these new heights if said Spark so chooses

. .A womans decision will overthrow any regulation by the IET on what goes where and at what height, especially if she is the one in charge of the accounts and is writing your cheques. .

Spark wont have any say in it
