This morning I noticed a hairline crack in the screed (it has been down for 6 weeks). I've attached a picture. Is this likely to an issue for the tiling, or is this exactly what the decoupling membrane is for?

Was it a wet pour screed???

How long has the crack be visible??

Looks like a drying out crack and shouldn't cause you too many problems.

Drying out crack I say, looks more sand/cement screed than a wet pour screed.

No, it was a sand cement mix that was barrowed in and leveled with hand floats. I noticed the crack for the first time today - but to be honest the light has been quite poor in there and the crack is very fine, so it could have been there for a while.

    Are drying out cracks ok?

    Fine ones are ok.

Had a few in the screed I laid here.
I gave the screed a coat of Everbuild 403 concrete harener & dustproof liquid before laying the underlay for the laminate, not essential, just had some spare & it sealed any dust.

Thanks - that's put my mind to rest. I guess it also re-enforces why a decoupling membrane is important!
