I need to extend the 45A cable for our cooker but 45A junction boxes don't appear to exist and a 60A one is too big for where it needs to go. Any suggestions? MK used to do a 30A one that took 6mm cable but seems to have been discontinued.

Hi Just the views of an experienced amateur;-
It is not a good idea to join high current cables as any junction box is the weakest link in the chain.
However if you really cannot replace the cable with a longer length ( the best option ) I would use a 60 amp JB such as this one :-

If you haven't room I suggest that you make room. You don't want a fire!
Any junction boxes should remain readily accessible for checking.
No doubt some professionals will comment in due course.
If in any doubt employ a qualified electrician.

I agree with all that Paul has said. If you can't replace the cable make room for a 60 amp JB to be used, and ensure that it is accessible for inspection and testing.

can you not cut a single box into the wall and extend it using a cooker connection unit ?

Crimp the cables, permenant job that will last as long as the cable
