    Hi,
I am due to pull off the rotten plywood and render from the front of our house very soon and want some opinions on how to redo it more suitably.

the inside of the stud work is finished in most rooms so all work will be done front the outside.
I have a 3x2 Stud frame which has no insulation at the moment and the plan so far is to (inside to out):

    Insulate 3x2 studwork
    clad with plywood
    breathable membrane
    28mm battens
    Stainless Stell mesh
    Render

Now, any suggestions are welcome regarding what I have so far. The biggest problem is with the insulation levels. I do not want to stick to building regulations, I would prefer to lower the insulation levels more. If I had bare studs internally I would use quilt insulation over the top to insulate and stop thermal bridging.

Any suggestions? Would I be looking at filling the stud with celotex and then attaching quilt to the external of the frame prior to installing membrane etc?

    Thanks.
