    Hi,

I've had a new back door in my house. When I was working away from home for a few weeks my girlfriend decided to paint it without an undercoat. She painted two coats of gloss. It doesn't look too good. Should I sand it all back and start again with a undercoat or add even more coats of gloss? I can kind of guess that I need to start over again (uuhhh!) but thought I should post here just in case.

    Cheers!

What gloss was used, was it exterior gloss?, then apply your finish coat.

You could sand the gloss back to remove the sheen.

Would recommend 2 coats of Dulux weather shield paint, this is a flexible paint.

I would suggest that you sand the door down very well, undercoat and then gloss. I bet that it's probably still a bit tacky
