Afternoon.. Can you tell me what these gauges were used for..(think they might be old T Stats)..anybody come across these? All in The Maltings at Thorpe Le Soken Essex.. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2101/2305250990_25cdbe3b22b.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2002/2304452987_1e769c6177b.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2406/2302533755_e1479b8465b.jpg
they look like very old t stats to me..... what else is in the room???? oil sump temp ???? bearing temp???? the list is endless
Old stats is exactly what they are. The black pointer is the preset temperature setting, the red pointer the actual reading. What for? God knows, 50 Degrees F (10 degrees C) to 350 degrees F (177 degrees C)??? low maybe for bearing temperatures, what was the place used for in a bygone era?

They are under the roof with the two chimneys. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2145/2305694509_89ec97e587b.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2212/2305677257_e1c422d94fb.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2079/2305695277_a41a0469dcb.jpg
They are temperature controllers. The "pipes" leading from them are capillary tubes that are filled with oil. When the temperature at the sensor (you don't show where they go a pipe, tank?) increases the temperature gauge the black one will start to rise. The red pointer will be set to a temperature setting that you wish to control a piece of equipment a pump for example. Never came across this type,(at 55 I am still too young for those lol) but they look like a basic temperature controller.
