Just putting some Screwfix LAP 2.5w LED fire rated down lights into a new ceiling in a Victorian house. Instructions say there should be a void of 260mm but because of the age of the house the joists are 200mm - ceiling is 12mm plasterboard - is this a problem? Thanks

As they are LED's I can't see any problems.

i think the 260 maybe an all round figure - 200 mm is pretty much a standard joist height. its all academic in any case because as sen has pointed out led its fine (because they generate literally no heat whatsoever).
