To all the paint experts out there! My sister has bought a house, lifted carpet from stairs which was glued down. She was hoping it would have been a nice wood underneath that she could have stained and varnished however they are just built using ply. So now she has seen some photos online of stairs that are painted white on the drop and black on the tread. She is wanting to know what would be the best paint for the task. Any product advice would be helpful. She is looking for a Matt finish that will obviously need to be hard wearing. Thanks!

Make sure the ply is of a quality that won't splinter at the edges/nose if not covered. Mr. HandyAndy - Really
I want try this as well.. But how about the smell? Is it good one not? It could have been better if it is odorless.
