    Hi all,

Probably going to get a few groans with this one; we just moved house and I want to move some sockets up a bit. Can I join the cables with some heat shrinked crimps?
The new cables and joint will then be filled over and painted (brick wall) so does the joint have to be in a box?
The reason I want to join is that I can't get under the floor to run new cables.

    Thanks in advance guys.

If the sockets are downstairs there is a good chance that the cables run down the wall so lifting them would not be a problem. If this is not the case use some proper crimps and a the correct tool to secure the crimps, you could then use some amalgamated tape to seal the joint cap over it and plaster and paint till your heart is content. :)
