I know this may not be the ideal category to put this under but here goes. It's a Proline and only works for about a minute and then just stops. Anyone got any good ideas.

    It's faulty...

This is caused by a time related sartorial sacrificial shedding.
The fluff filter if blocked !

Well try it on a cold cycle to help eliminate the 'overheating' suggestion.

what type of control does it have?

what do you do to get it going again?

what type of drier is it (condenser/vented/HP)?

Hi the Dryer is a proline condenser TDC6A and to get it back on you just have to press start. It has the timer and 2 other switches on front one is start and one is for the cooler cycle.

is it plumbed in or collecting condensate in the drawer thing?

is it level and on firm ground?

No it has a draw at the bottom to collect the water. Its on level ground and has been in the same place for the last 2 yrs.

maybe the condensate full sensor is 'flicking' with viabration from the machine? Otherwise a dodgy timer I reckon.

Some tumble dryers have an overheat thermostat that could be causing the problem or it could be a faulty door interlock. My advice would be (if you are confident to do it safely) would be to bypass the thermostat temporarily to see if the symptoms dissapear. If this doesn't work short the door interlock (again temporarily). Obviously take decent safety precautions.

    Could be a worn belt/belts.

Certainly if that model has a belt for the drum AND a belt for the fan, either one slipping/not rotating fan or drum, will cut the power for safety.

If it's a faulty door lock, then give the door a big push..

    Works with mine..
