    Hi,

I have 8 outdoor garden lights, used to work ok, but since I have had a new circuit board fitted the RCD switch cuts out everytime they are switched on. I've check all the connections and they look fine (no loose wires and no moisture). The cabling is buried under the garden so i cant check that but its very tough so would be surprised if it had been damaged. The electrician who fitted the circuit board no longer around and I'm at a lose as to what to try to fix it. Anyone any ideas?

    Thanks

    Marc

You will need to have the circuit tested with an insulation tester. I'd say it's almost certainly water in a connection somewhere, did they work ok when the c/unit was first replaced?

Sounds about right sen. Low resistance earth to neutral would function without rcd :)
