   I have removed half of wall between kitchen and dining room in my 1930 terrace house. The wall left has a beam (9x3 inch),which is supporting couple of joists. Nothing above the wall.
   
   What would be the best way to reinforce this wall.also do i need padstone under this wooden beam to spread the load. Its the beam with knife on pic.
