Hi, This is my first post so hope I can be clear. I have the engineers code to my veritas 8 alarm and have just got new replacement buttons for my stand alone panel I entered the engineers code, removed the front panel but couldn't get the worn keypad buttons off. I didn't want to force the plastic lugs on each side of the rectangular translucide plastic plate without asking for advice. Would really appreciate some help, Thanks in advance, Robert43.
Can you post pictures of the new buttons - from the back. And tiy really should power down the panel when doing it.
Thanks Pollowick, I powered down before removing the cover. The new keypad buttons are in three bits. (See photo) Hope you can give me the solution, Robert43
I'm just going on what I have seen on various websites - looking for a couple of other Texecom parts, and the Veritas Buttons keep appearing! Are the replacement parts Texecom originals? Best guess is that on the hard clear plastic piece there are two catches, on at either end. Do they clip over lugs on the stand-off? If not, you may wish to give Texecom support a call or email as they are normally very helpful. techsupport@texe.com I will reiterate that the change MUST be done with the system powered down.
