Hi all, quoting for a retaining wall 19m in length varying heights between 1 metre and 1.8. Surcharge is just next doors lawn. Should I go for a 225mm block on edge with EML every other joint horizontally and if so do I need expansion joints? The other option is rebar in footing (450x600) into concrete filled hollow blocks, again though, bearing in mind the length, would I need expansion joints? I understand the need for aggregate backfill and drainage points etc, its more the expansion joint issue Im not so sure on. Wondered if there were any engineers here who could shed some light? Thanks in advance.
