Ring main help

    It could be to do with the design of the ring and now as times have moved on the original ring design became out dated and in some respect dangerous. If the board is close to the kitchen and living room, then the other leg goes upstairs you will find that one leg will carry a much higher current then the other leg. A correct ring should have equal current flow either side of the ring. There is debate as to weather or not s ring in modern times is in fact a safe method and that radical circuits would be more suited. Most modern builds will have at least three rings, a large cable expense compared to three radials. Even at 16A three cicuirts would be ample.

    0.5 and 0.8 ohms

    What meter you getting those from (I am guessing a digital Multimeter as how many DIYer have a low ohm meter apart from JP that is)
