RJ45 Socket outlet

    Please help. Are the RJ45 1 gang outlets generally unpluggable from behind . In other words if replacing power skirting with RJ45 outlets would one have to disconnect and rewire or can one unplug them. Your assistance would be gratefully appreciated.

    Most are wired - the connections being made with IDC punch down terminals.  If removing, you would have to re-strip and re-terminate.

    There are some which 'plug in' from behind, but they are rare and quite bodgy.

    This one has been terminate a little sloppy - the sheath should be taken right upto the module itself, not stripped this far back.  The natural twists should remain in the conductors right upto their terminations, here they are also a little sloppy, particularly the orange pair.

    Thanks for that Lectrician , do you use any specialized tools to make these terminations ?
