We've got a few exposed nail and screw ends. I was wondering whether there are any safety caps on the market for sealing off the ends? I asked at my local B&Q but they didn't know of anything
http://www.screwfix.com/p/dewalt-nail-punch-set-3-pieces/7067c Best ones I've ever owned. They get used a lot more now with the nailer, as it doesn't bury the heads every time. Rubber handle makes them much more comfortable to use.
thanks. But I meant a cap for the tips, not the heads, of the screws / nails. (sorry my original post wasn't clear!)
I agree with some above. Take them out and use proper length, or grind them off (possible to nip screws close, and whack with hammer to snap off - or work up and down for nails). Mr. HandyAndy - Really
Tell us something we don't know! They only work at B&Q because they were to bright to work at Screwfix, mind you Screwfix staff do walk on two legs.
Thanks for the suggestions. Blob of silicone is probably the easiest. I might try soft plastic beads. It seems as if there's a gap in the market here for something like a soft plastic bead designed for this purpose!
If the job had been done properly with the correct screws and nails there would not be a problem. How would you market the bodgers bead?
Where exactly are these sharp nail and screw tips and why such a problem Depending on surrounding surface and access, 4" grinder with thin metal slitting disc would be fast approach
Gavin Remove screw, grind/cut last 5mm off & replace said screw. Easy. Mr Handyandy, silly suggestion. Waste of a good Pizza.
