Ok chaps,I haven't found the proper name for it yet,I'm sure there is one,for what no doubt a few of our wives/girlfriends would call our little fetish.I refer of course to our habit of collecting tools, lets be honest we've all come up with an excuse as to why we needed that shiny and often expensive piece of kit we've just bounced through the front door with. We've all seen that puzzled look on our other half's face as we excitedly open the box and admire it's contents,or look longingly at that expensive power tool on the internet, trying desperately to think of a way of justifying it's purchase,we've sat in pubs and cafe's or even on here and discussed the pro's and cons of the Makita vs the DeWalt. One of my mate's wives is hilarious "is Dave in?"I asked, she replied "hang on he's reading his toolp0rn,I'll just go and get him". Toolp0rn is her term for any form of catalogue or brochure that has things in it,If I'm out and about and I see a new catalogue at a trade show I'll bring him one home just to wind her up.lol anyway here's a few piccy's of a tiny amount of my gear,I decided to do a bit of tidying this morning, enjoy.

How funny 'Toolporn' my sister uses the same word, but, I can't resist trade cats, I'm just as bad with nosing in skips.:oops:

No sabre saw in your little collection, I've tried scaling down my tools abit, but they are still increasing:(, I'm badly lacking space for all the tools, might finally start building new workshop in the New Year.
Got a large 25mm bench drill, been tempted to get rid of it, but now & again it still get used for large holes in metal, so it gets another reprive.

    tool porn
The act of men observing and admiring the use of fancy, expensive tools to build projects and fix problems in ways that the average man has no hope of accomplishing in real life. These are typically television programs or magazines where the porn is presented by experts to be appealing to an average schlub who does not possess the means to imitate them.
Did you watch {This Old House, Trucks!, etc.} yesterday? I love watching tool porn.

(love the Makita hoover by the way!)...... is it any good? :)

Oooouufff ! Now that's a hoover (or vacuum before the PC brigade turn up!)

I've only got a K'archer , does the job, car clean dust extractor etc.

See what you've started here Phil :)

On Sky, the Japanese news channel NHK News (507), they have diy on there occasional, other week they were restoring a 300 year old timber frame building, workmanship was amazing, another week someone using a 16" Makita circular saw:eek: to cut most of the joints first, then finishing with a chisell, so impressive.

K'archer's wet n dry regular vacuum but works as a dust extractor when stuck to the end of chop saw, sander etc.

I just got a bargain couple of weeks ago.
    New Cross-line laser.
Well Over £350 new, but as they are now superseded by the Green laser, red ones are going cheap.
Offered £95 and got it. To my utter amazement, it came with a free upgrade with Tripod, & red magnetic mount.

I'm retired now, so only DIY & helping friends out,so no real need to buy any more tools, but....The only cordless tool I had was an old 12v drill driver & the Ni-Cad batteries were on their last legs, so I took the plunge & bought a Makita 10,8 drill driver with the new slide on 2,0Amp hr batteries. OMG. I feel like I've been living in the dark ages ! :D:D:D
