I need to change the tap tops on my Swirl "Magellan" taps but I cannot see any way of removing the existing tap tops. I would appreciate knowing if or how they are supposed to be removed? I have tried pulling them upwards but didnt want to break anything and thought I'd best ask first. This link will show you the type of tap I am talking about: http://www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/cat/lrgimgpopup.jsp;jsessionid=5L33WM3EHZ5USCSTHZOCFEY?productId=94939&imageNo=null&ts=95602
The very top part of the tap (around 10mm deep) unscrews anticlockwise. Hold the rest of the top to stop it turning. Once you have this off then there's a screw underneath, undo this and the whole top comes off.
Thanks JoinerJohn, I'll give it a try. I agree G Brown, They certainly are quite difficult to use with wet hands. Even more so with Arthritic wet hands.
Thanks Arty, only reason I know the way to take them off is, I have a brand new set lying in a cupboard here.... Came off a B&Q display bathroom we had returned from store. (The store didn't want it apparently) So the taps were taken off before the rest was scrapped
