It only mentions Christian religions so not very accurate on people with no religion. My views on religion are clear but without doubt Islam will become the dominant religion ( way of life ) in years to come then God help us.
Ahh, did you notice the graph showing the percentages of non Christian religion (particularly note the section in the South West).. Might explain DA's attitude. (fnurrr, fnurrr)
I try to be a Christian. The vast majority of people in this country are not interested in religion at all. The new big temples are to that great new religion Shopping, followed closely by Football and getting drunk in the shortest possible time.
Islam will ultimately go the way of Christianity. Currently it's around 500 years behind Roman Catholicism...
Hi Paul. Why do you try and be a Christian? You mentioned before you sometimes find it a struggle. If it were a 'real' thing, I wonder why it should be a struggle? You come across on here as a thoroughly decent bloke - so isn't Christian 'values' enough? It has to be actual 'belief'?
Christianity will most likely make you a better person. The new religion, Materialism tends to have the opposite effect on people. Keep trying, I say.
Alas - for you - not true. Religious people - all across the world - are generally less kind and considerate than their non-believing fellows. They tend to be more punitive in their desire for punishment for crimes, and more negative & critical of their fellow peeps. Whilst at the same time actually believing they are better people. That really does sum up this supernatural nonsense.
If I were to take up religion what to go for Catholic or Muslim difficult decision let me think, buggered or be headed.
Just re read my post and it struck me, buggered or be headed, sounds like the title of one of DAs porno videos
I am an atheist. But even that term is not really a good one, as it infers that there is something in which not to believe. Bizarrely, since making that choice in my early teens, I have learned more about comparative religion through having to defend my position than most religious people ever do.
Absolutely - on both counts. Yes, I don't like particularly like the term atheist either. As you say, it's those with a belief that should have the 'terms' - not normal rational peeps. Actually - 'normal' and 'rational' will do nicely And, yes, once you've unshackled yourself form the madness that is religious belief, it does become an absolutely fascinating subject with lots of yummy reading material - "God Is Not Great " and "The God Delusion" for two of the best. (And sadly, for similar reasons to you.) 'Sadly'? Nah - it's great fun But, as with Brexiters, ultimately futile...
