Thermoplastic tiles....

Time has come to bite the bullet and consider refurbishing our 14' x 12' dining room floor.

It currently has thermoplastic tiles, (over which is laid sheet vinyl), which appear to be bedded on some type of bitumen based adhesive on a concrete screed.

Quite a few of the tiles are damaged and loose but the majority are well bonded.

I know that the 'proper job' would be to strip the tiles and adhesive rather than just self-level the spaces so can anyone advise how to remove the adhesive??

Thermoplastic tiles often contain asbestos as can the adhesive, I suggest you get a sample tested and get proper advice before starting work.
