    A few simple questions

    1. Is it neccessary to fit a metal end strip to worktop next to a standalone cooker (gas) if it is a solid beech worktop? Instructions with worktop say fit a 10mm solid wood return if the worktop is next to a constant heat source like an aga, but not what to do for a standard slot in duel fuel cooker.
    2. On the same subject what gap should I allow for the 600mm cooker given that there needs to be a clearance each side of the cooker
    3. When tiling up to a door should the gap between the last tile and the architrave be filled with grout or sillicone?
    Thanks in advance

Can't answer 1 & 2 but with regards to your tiling, I would say grout this gap as usual, once dry then a small bead of silicone up to the door frame

You often get cracks appearing where 2 different substrates join and with a door frame, there may be some movement with the door opening\closing so a crack will more than likely form between the two. A neat bead of sili will solve this problem
