I have a TV in the dining room that has no aerial feed, i took a coax lead and a foot long copper pipe and soldered the core to one end and the shield to the other.
Its a right old bodge but its worked for the last few years...

I am in a good signal area.

Have you set the telly up with the main aerial first?

if you do that, you will be able to see results when you position the aerial. And with this digital stuff you have to give it a second or two every time you move it, to register a signal.

Andy is right, you should tune the TV on the main aerial and then connect it to the other aerial.
