1st is about layland trade satin wood paint for use on window frames (outside) 2nd is about painting an internal wall with a strange chalk like finnish (touch it and its like a white powder that rubs off on your fingers) but seams without end and reminds me of an old white wash finnish (also cant afford to have it re plastered)

  2. Don't know about the first - does it say 'external'?

Chalky finish? Don't paint straight on that...

It'll either be chalky 'cos the exiting paint finish has deteriorated somehow or else 'cos it's 'distemper' or similar.

If it's distemper, it would suggest your house is pretty old and required a paint that allows the walls to breathe.

How old is yer hoosie, and what are the walls finish in - what type of plaster, do you know?
