    For brambles a Irish slasher is a better tool, your second image is a Dunse Slasher, which is better for laying hedges, than trimming brambles.

    And wear eye protection when using it.

    Even better is a petrol brush cutter with metal blade.:)

    Also a Brushing hook could be use,has a slightly more curve blade, I have always prefer the Irish slasher.

    me and dad where having a heated chat about this and he said the basic one was better and i said that a heavy duty or Dunse Slasher or an irish slasher (both of which i have)
