I have a waste pipe in the floor, not the wall, but most toilets in B and Q have a waste pipe that goes horizontal not downwards....what kind of toilet do I need to buy?  And yes, I would love to just hire a plumber to do it, but needs must, my pan's cracked and I have no money!!

  2. You need a pan suitable for an S trap not a P trap.
B and Q probably ouldnt sell them, neither would most sheds are they are a mass market supplier.
Try you local plumbers merchant, probably be able to get you one by Tuesday

You need a 'P type' or 'Q type' pan connector. The latter is sometimes called a 'Space Saver' and is used if you need to get the toilet a bit further back to the wall than a 'P Pan Conector' would allow.
    Good Luck ;)

Go to S/F and get part No 15330 bent pan connector, will do the job just fine

The trouble with them buggers is that they block up so easily! I prefer this type when converting to a S trap http://www.screwfix.com/p/floplast-sp106-flexible-connector/17529 It will bend 90% and at the same time allow a bit of sideways movement for the new WC.
Having said that if you are just renewing the pan then you need a S trap WC for the best and easiest solution. You will have to order one from a specialist plumbers merchant though. S/fix and the other majors will tell you that they are not made anymore!

  8. Yes I know nothing - Are you telling me that these pans do not exist? Or that they were not a mass market product i.e high level and low level toilets wrre conventionally this type of pan???

Two mutually exclusive replies, one after the other.

That gives a punter real confidence!
