Folks, I'm shortly to fit a new kitchen sink, white ceramic, into a new laminate worktop... I picked up some silicon sealant the other day and noticed it said on it, "Not suitable for food preparation areas", or something like that... What should I use as sealant when fitting the sink? I'm thinking this; http://www.screwfix.com/p/dow-corning-785-bacteria-resistant-sanitary-silicone-white-310ml/58308 Or is there something else/better I should use? Sink is this; Sink and worktop is this; worktop (not from those suppliers...Sink via eBay, worktop from DIY-Kitchens.com) Thanks in advance. Regards, Cando.
That will be perfect. Personally I seal the cut out really well and use a small bead tight round the cutout to set the sink on so as not to bleed out under the edge. I do not like to see any silicone around sinks, certainaly not a 'licked finger's worth all round.
