So What's wrong with my method Phil? ...No danger of damaging the drill body. I'm a bit of a thug when tightening vice jaws !!! LOL

If you put the Allen key into the vice, how do you undo the Chuck???, turn the drill body?? Would this cause the drill clutch to kick in?? I don't know the answers to the above, I have always done it the way I posted.

No Phil, as I said previously. With the Allen key held in the vice, you whack the spanner that is on the flats of the drill spindle. It's always worked for me. ;)

  4. Explain is no more than one sentence, Malkie, what direction this spanner has to be turned...

    :p

(I did enough hand gesticulating trying to work out which way to thwack the chuck key... )

Same as undoing any normal thread DA, anti-clockwise. Sorted! :)
