Security bolts - what type of tool required?

  1. Fix it back on to what?

Or were two sticks too many...?

  2. Yep - can't see much torque being applied via that wee slightly-off-centre hole.

    It's a weird one.

I've suggested he try and find out who fitted them, or what make they are. I've drawn a complete blank myself on t'net trying to find roof window security fixings of that type.

    Hey-ho.

    Thanks, everyone, for trying.

  3. Hey, I'm not stoopid. I know what it means, but chust neffer been called it before.

Man, you lot know how to hurt...

  7. Blimey, what a selection, Facs - many thanks for the link.

Bro can email them a pic and see if they recognise it.

You removed a 'magnetic' type before? Did that work by simply clamping down tight on the bolt or did the magnetic tool activate something inside the bolt to make it 'click'?

If I remember correctly DA they worked by simply clamping down tight on the fixing/bolt, having said that they were on internal light fittings, if it's an external fixing on a skylight fixings may be Stainless and won't be the magnetic type, either way that link may be able to help
