Unsightly gas metre and pipework - what can I do?

  1. That is truly shocking, CJ.

I don't know what your rights are, but I'd be astonished if you didn't have come-back in this case.

Since the supply pipe to your property can obviously be run underground - 'cos that's what they are - then I don't see any reason why the feed from the meter to the house can't be buried too. But I don't know.

But surely a buried box and pipes is completely possible?

Anyhoo, time to do a bit of washing. Hang it oot to dry, and them carefully/carelessly stamp on that pipe on the way back in, clutching your large washing basket of clothes in front of you so's you can't see where you're going properly.

I mean, you know what it's like carrying a large basket of washing?

  2. Dave does Gas

    Dave does Gas Screwfix Select

The pipe can be run underground but you will need to use the correct materials, Not copper unless you use the pre sleeved stuff. Best option these days is Trac pipe. As has been said get your builder to cover the cost but get a Gas Safe to do the work.
